What’s this all about?

The movement in Detroit has a long history of hosting tribunals as a way for the people to reckon with state violence. There was one held after the 1967 Rebellion to account for the violence brought by the National Guard. Detroit Will Breathe held one in 2020 to shine a light on the police brutality brought down on racial justice protestors. After the violent sweeps and evictions of the encampments for Palestine at University of Michigan and Wayne State Univeristy, students held a tribunal in 2023 to call the administration and police to account.

Now, in 2026, we’re bringing accounts of ICE depravity and violence to the forefront. We know that between March 16 and June 20, 2026 at least 204 people were abducted in Metro Detroit. We’ll be highlighting citizen testimony about ICE activity.
